Delayed Opening Follow Up
To: All Faculty, Students and Staff
From: Provost Robert Holub
Due to icy weather conditions this morning, the university executed a delayed opening and resumed its regular operations at 10 a.m.
University policy states that when the university either remains open or opens on a delayed schedule, all faculty, administrators, and staff are expected to make every reasonable effort to maintain their regular or adjusted work schedules but to avoid any undue risk in traveling.
Classes scheduled before 10 a.m. this morning were not held. We recognize there may be some confusion about classes that were scheduled to begin just prior to 10 a.m.
Students in those classes are advised to contact their instructors or check the class Blackboard site to determine if alternative arrangements have been made or additional work has been assigned. This is particularly important for classes that meet only once a week.
We also recognize that weather and related traffic problems may have affected morning classes and student attendance in classes that were scheduled to begin after 10 a.m.
Students are responsible for any academic work they miss and instructors should provide a reasonable opportunity for students to complete assignments or examinations missed due to such absences.
All students, faculty and staff are advised to read the university’s inclement weather policy in Hilltopics.
