Academic Affairs

  • Serves as internal and external point of contact for all requests of the vice provost for academic affairs
  • Facilitates academic program reviews and mid-cycle reviews
  • Coordinates and supports key academic affairs committees related to the strategic plan
  • Serves as the institutional coordinator for the Academic Common Market

Faculty Affairs

Melanie Finnegan

  • Serves as internal and external point of contact for all requests and scheduling for the vice provost for faculty affairs
  • Provides support and composes appointment letters for academic searches
  • Facilitates promotion and tenure process
  • Facilitates faculty development leave process and leaves related to the Faculty & Family Care Policy
  • Processes necessary support documentation for faculty retention and evaluation
  • Serves as the point of contact for Elements inquiries
  • Serves as the point of contact for inquiries regarding the Online Faculty Review System
  • Maintains all handbooks related to Faculty Affairs

Graduate School

Millie Cheatham

Administrative Coordinator to Vice Provost and Dean Dixie Thompson

  • Serves as internal and external point of contact for all requests of the vice provost and dean of the Graduate School
  • Provides administrative support for the meetings of the Graduate Associate Deans
  • Serves as the office manager for the Graduate School
  • Coordinates Graduate School sponsored programs and events such as orientation, hooding ceremony, etc.
  • Provides budgetary oversight for the Student/Faculty Research Awards and most financial matters for the Graduate School

Academic Resources

Connie Beatty

Connie BeattyAdministrative Support Assistant

  • Manages chancellor’s, provost’s, vice chancellors’, and vice provosts’ guest traffic and phone calls
  • Provides administrative support to the director of academic resources, including entering accounts payable, reconciling time sheets and ledgers, and preparing and entering travel
  • Supports and serves as back-up to other administrative assistants on the floor
  • Manages the conference room and orders supplies

Brandy Norwoodb-norwood

Administrative Coordinator II

  • Maintains financial records and database systems
  • Serves as liaison to college and university personnel
  • Assists with preparation of department E&G budget
  • Prepares and processes budget revisions


David Price

Business Manager

  • Oversees Financial Management and Human Resources functions
  • Provides support to the Vice Provosts and other offices within Academic Affairs
  • Assists with the budget and financial operations of Non-Academic Units reporting to the Office of the Provost
  • Develops, implements, and manages department E&G and Restricted budgets
