Light The Torch
Light the Torch: The First-Year Experience at UT brings together all the pieces you’ll need, from pre-orientation to ongoing assistance throughout the year. Light the Torch will engage you in learning, provide social support, and offer academic advice so that your freshman year sets the tone for a great college career at UT Knoxville!
Student Activities
Student development is a major focus of the office, as student involvement creates a positive learning experience which will open new horizons, ideas and social outlet for students. By having students actively participate in all aspects of university life, hopefully they will become better citizens and future community leaders.
Student Affairs
The Division of Student Affairs is charged with improving the student life at the University of Tennessee. Its various departments encompass many different aspects of university life but all work toward one goal - providing students with an engaging and enlightening atmosphere of living and learning.
Student Government Association
The Student Government Association is a body comprised of students pursuing the betterment of this institution so that all members of the University community are beneficiaries of the opportunities and advantages available in an environment conducive to growth. SGA exists to provide the student body with a means to deal with the affairs of students and as a forum for the expression of student views concerning student life within the University.
Student Handbook
Each year the University of Tennessee produces the Hilltopics Student Handbook. Inside Hilltopics students will find general campus policies and procedures, standards of conduct, academic policies and procedures, and information about student support, services, and organizations.
