Faculty Resources to Support Student Success

Colleagues,

I want to share resources designed to help each student successfully complete the second half of the semester. The resources were developed based on instructor feedback through Provost Zomchick’s Coffee and Conversation discussions. Please feel free to share them broadly.

Vol Success Tips & Videos

This series of videos provides students with actionable tips to succeed in the classroom and will be shared with students this week in Vol Update. Additional recommendations will be added to our website each week through the fall semester. In collaboration with Teaching & Learning Innovation, faculty-led videos and tips will launch in January 2021.

Academic Success PowerPoint Slides

These PowerPoint slides are designed to be inserted into existing presentations as an additional reminder of academic resources.

Academic Success Resource Presentations

The Academic Success Center (ASC) offers academic coaching, success workshops, tutoring, and supplemental instruction in virtual and in-person modalities. The ASC is available for 10-minute, in-class presentations to summarize educational resources.

Individual Academic or Mental Health Concerns

Additional support is available through the Academic Success Center for academic concerns and the 24/7 distressed student hotline at 865-974-HELP (4357) for matters related to mental health and well-being.

If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact me. Thanks for all you do every day, in both big and small ways.

In the Volunteer spirit,

Amber Williams, EdD

Vice Provost for Student Success
