A Message of Gratitude

Dear Colleagues,

Last week, I had the privilege of presiding over the commencement ceremonies for our 2020 graduates. As I watched our graduates cross the stage and celebrate their accomplishments with proud family members, I was reminded of how fortunate I am to work at a university where, despite a global pandemic, we have enabled our students to achieve their goals.

This past year has been like no other in the history of our university. The global pandemic has put enormous stress on our Volunteer community. Throughout these stressful months, your dedication to our work and your ingenuity in coping with uncertainty have lifted up our community’s beacon for all to see.

There is much to be thankful for during this season of gratitude. Your efforts will be at the top of my list. As we pause to reflect on this Thanksgiving holiday, I hope that you will find inspiration, strength, and the rest need to finish out fall semester and look ahead to a brighter future.

My deepest thanks and gratitude,

John Zomchick
Provost & Senior Vice Chancellor
