Dear Colleagues,
I am pleased to announce that Owen Driskill, who currently serves as UT’s assistant director of News and Information, will be joining the campus leadership team with a limited duration appointment as assistant provost and chief operating officer in the Office of the Provost. His first day is August 2, 2021.
Owen will be managing the operations of the Office of the Provost and special projects related to the office’s and the university’s mission and vision. He will also oversee processes that ensure the flow of information to stakeholders and central communications on behalf of the office.
Owen brings over twenty years of operations and crisis communication management experience, and most recently has served as the assistant director of news and information in UT’s Office of Communications and Marketing. Prior to joining UTK, he oversaw campus operations and community relations for Roane State, and provided strategic planning and leadership for the college’s satellite locations. Owen earned his Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from East Tennessee State University in 2016 and his master’s degree in communication arts from Austin Peay State University in 2010.
Owen’s wealth of experience will be such an asset to the Office of the Provost and to the university in his new leadership position. Please join me in welcoming Owen in his new role.
