Colleagues,
After an internal search, I am pleased to share that Beth Avery Foster, professor in the Tombras School of Advertising and Public Relations, has been appointed vice provost for academic affairs.
Beth has served in this role for the past 19 months on a limited-duration appointment. I am especially grateful for her effective leadership, vision, commitment to student success, and collaborative approach. I look forward to continuing to work with her in this permanent role.
Since joining UT in 2009, Beth has served in multiple academic and leadership roles, including director of the Tombras School of Advertising and Public Relations. She is recognized for her research excellence, support for faculty achievement, interdisciplinary engagement, and academic innovation.
I offer my appreciation to search committee chair Michael Danquah, professor and associate dean for academic and student affairs in the Tickle College of Engineering, and committee members Neno Russell, associate professor in the College of Arts and Sciences; Brian Coldren, associate vice provost for academic initiatives and university registrar; and Heather Hartman, associate vice provost for institutional effectiveness and SACSCOC liaison.
Please join me in congratulating Beth on this appointment.
Kind regards, John Zomchick
