Elements is the University of Tennessee’s faculty activity reporting system. Elements serves as the authoritative record of each faculty member’s teaching, research/scholarship/creative, and service activities. Faculty are expected to maintain their profiles and update them as needed. Elements reports are used in faculty performance reviews, program reviews, and for other institutional purposes.
Discovery Module
The Discovery Module uses data from Elements to create public web profiles for faculty. It allows faculty to showcase their scholarly, research, and other professional activities. Faculty accomplishments can also be easily displayed and highlighted in departmental and college communications.
Faculty control what information goes public or stays private. By default, faculty profiles are available in the Discovery Module. If faculty wish to hide information in their profiles, they can mark it private. Faculty can also mark their entire profile as private, which will keep it from being available in the Discovery Module.
