Faculty Appreciation Week 2023

UT faculty dream big, tackle great challenges, discover and share knowledge, mentor and inspire students, and serve communities. Faculty Appreciation Week celebrates faculty, their work, and how they represent the Volunteer spirit.

During Faculty Appreciation Week, faculty can receive 30% off purchases of gift and apparel items. Minimal exclusions may apply. For online purchases, enter code FAW23 during checkout at UTVOLSHOP.COM. In stores, scan your Faculty ID at checkout.

Aramark (Campus Dining)

During Faculty Appreciation Week, faculty can enjoy one FREE medium drip coffee or hot tea per day at the Vol Dining POD Markets on campus. Please present your UT Faculty ID when redeeming this offer.

Division of Student Success

Have a cup of coffee on us! Faculty can enjoy a specialty espresso beverage, drip coffee, or tea at any campus Starbucks or Einstein’s location on Wednesday, March 1 during operating hours. Faculty must show their Faculty ID to redeem this offer. One redemption per faculty member.


Events

The week includes a variety of events intended to build community, celebrate diversity, share ideas, and have fun. Please register for events NO LATER than February 20, 2023.

Coffee & Chocolate

Faculty are invited to enjoy a free hot, iced, or frozen coffee (plus sweet options for non-coffee drinkers!), prepared by Refill Coffee Company, and gourmet sweets from Bradley’s (formerly Knoxville Chocolate Company). This event is hosted in the new space dedicated to support faculty advancement, engagement, and community-building, and faculty are welcome to check out the location and share ideas about its design. Members of the Faculty Space Taskforce and the Office of the Campus Architect will be available to answer questions and receive feedback.

Drop by the I-House to enjoy international coffee, tea, and treats, in recognition of the many ways faculty members enhance UT’s global reach and reputation. Learn how you can collaborate with the Center for Global Engagement to expand your research or instruction portfolio across the world.

Faculty Appreciation Lunch: Honoring Our Diversity

Faculty are invited to attend a lunch with Provost John Zomchick and Vice Chancellor Tyvi Small to honor faculty whose interests are represented by the Council for Diversity and Inclusion, Commission for Blacks, and other commissions. This event, co-sponsored by the Office of the Provost, Division of Diversity and Engagement, Commission for Blacks, Commission for Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, and Council for Diversity and Inclusion, is designed to celebrate the accomplishments of faculty and provide a venue for community-building and connections.

Grand Finale Event: Faculty Pub Trivia Night

For the final event of this year’s Faculty Appreciation Week, we are adding a trivia twist to Faculty Pub! Please register NO LATER than February 20, 2023.

Put your knowledge to the test in a fun, casual setting. The top 2 teams will win prizes! Hosted by It’s Not Rocket Science Trivia, this game will feature general knowledge questions from categories including media, popular culture, history, sports, and more.

Sign up as a free agent to be matched with other groups looking for teammates, or grab your colleagues and register as a team. NOTE: Due to seating limitations in the venue, teams are limited to NO MORE than 6 members. Teams should have a point of contact for communication about this event.

Enjoy free appetizers and a cash bar (card payments only).
