Every spring, UT celebrates academic and professional honors. The awards highlight individuals embodying the Volunteer spirit through extraordinary research and creative activity, impactful contributions to campus life, and leadership and service to the university and beyond.
Before 2021, the Chancellor’s Honors Banquet presented all awards. In 2021, the university created the Academic Honors Banquet and divided awards between the two events. The Office of the Provost hosts the Academic Honors Banquet.
These awards celebrate the students, staff, and faculty who exemplify the very best of our university. Those recognized through this ceremony have demonstrated a deep commitment to academic excellence, groundbreaking research, and enterprising service.
Academic excellence is a core tenet of our mission. It strengthens our credibility, advances knowledge, and equips our university to serve the people of Tennessee and communities far beyond our campus. The Academic Honors Banquet is a special opportunity to recognize the achievements, dedication, and impact of some of the brightest members of our academic community.
