For each tenure-track faculty member, the department and department head will conduct an enhanced tenure track review (ETTR), or mid-cycle review, to assess and inform the faculty member of their progress toward the granting of tenure. This typically takes place during the third or fourth year of the probationary period, although this timing might be adjusted to account for extensions.
